...Little did we know we were in for 6 days straight of being SNOWED IN!!!
Well...it has become a good laugh around here (but really it has proved to be true) that anytime the Lumsden parents come to visit in the fall or winter, we get snow! Lets check this...Thanksgiving 2010= snow and ice storm of the century! Thanksgiving 2011= snow! January 2012= snow storm of the century! And the best part about this is that they had postponed their trip here this time for a week later because Jason was sick when they initially planned to come. And low and behold, the week they postponed to we got snow the day they arrived!!!
So like the title of the blog said, the weatherman forecasted snow, but I don't think they had any idea what we were really in for. The first day of snow, January 14th, was nice. It came down enough to cover the ground and make us happy. The second day was nice too because it was the weekend and we could all just sit inside and enjoy the snow. But come days 3-6, we were losing our minds!! Jason was working from home all week because the roads were not safe in our neighborhood. We couldn't go anywhere because as luck would have it our one 4-wheel drive vehicle needed new tires and was NOT driveable in these bad conditions. And the dogs were even starting to become less than impressed with the snow piling up. Needless to say, it was a long 6 days of being stuck in the house!
All in all, we got a total of 9-10 inches of snow over those 6 days. Pretty to look at, fun for a few days, but ready for it to go away by day 6!

The snow was up to their bellies at the field!
This was how the dogs were feeling by day 5
That's a lot of snow on our deck!
