The Big Birthday Party!

On September 1st, we celebrated Cammy's birthday with some of our close friends, some family from here and out of town, and some of our neighbors. After about two months of planning and crafting, it was nice to see it all come together and be enjoyed by everyone. Thank you Pinterest for the many ideas we used for Cammy's party :)

We lucked out and had great weather (thank goodness for late August babies because we can typically count on good weather for parties outdoors). We had lots of food, bocce ball, croquet and a bean bag toss set up for people to play, and wagon rides for the little ones in Cammy's new wagon.

The smash cake was far from a "smash" cake. Just as we expected, Cammy was very dainty about her cake and barely made a dent in it. In fact, we had to slice a little piece out so she could see inside and get interested. That still didn't work that well and I think one of us ended up spoon feeding her some of the cake. That's my girl...nice and clean!!!

And this is as messy as she got!

Towards the end of the party we decided to open some presents, despite having a pooped out little birthday girl.  I think at this point Cammy was far less interested in anything that involved sitting and just wanted to be on the move.  Welcome to having a toddler, right?!

"Do we have to open presents?"

Opening some presents together...didn't last too long!

Despite all the hard work that went into prepping for this party, it was so worth it in the end.  We couldn't have pulled it off without the help of our friends and family though...they were beyond amazing!!!  Thank you to everyone that came to celebrate our precious little girl!!!

The birthday girl in her finest :)
