18 Months Already?!

When people ask how old Cambrynn is, it freaks me out a bit to be able to tell them she is a year and a half!!  Honestly, where has all that time gone?!

It's amazing how much changes from one year to 18 months!!

We feel like we are now beginning to get our toes wet with the "terrible twos" stage.  She is usually a sweet, loving, playful toddler, but when she has her moments, she REALLY has her moments and sometimes I feel like I can't possibly take hearing the word "NO" anymore!

Her vocabulary has really taken off and she now tries to repeat most words we say and says MANY things on her own!  Check out this list of words that our 18 month old can already say...

Frequented words/phrases:
momma, dadda, car, bye bye, hi, all done, dark, tv (aka: titty), cheers, eat, play, out, mine, poop, no, Elmo, more, up, highchair (aka: hi cha), hop, night night, hot, please (aka: peas), banana (aka: nana), hat, juice, pacifier (aka: pap/pack), baby, orange, walk, cookie/cracker (aka: cock), water, I don't know (aka: I know), home

Other words she knows, but doesn't use on a daily basis unless we say them:
morning, Matt (as in her good buddy Matthew Sims), apple, applesauce, hot dog, happy birthday, milk, eye, nose, shoe, pretty (aka: pitty), truck (aka: cock), bottle (aka: baba), pee pee, yes, sure, backpack, airplane, ball, bubble, two, bird, Coda (aka: Toda), Keela (aka: Keke), thank you (aka: tainty)

Cambrynn is just beginning to recognize when she either went pee or poop in her diaper or when she is about to.  She will inform us by usually saying "poop" for either of them and most times she is pretty accurate.  I guess we need to start thinking of getting her a potty to explore with sooner than later :)

She hates being in her stroller for more than about 10 mins (oh joy for when I take her to my hour long Stroller Stride classes!).

She has a few obsessions: cars, chapstick (rubs her finger on her lips when she wants it), Elmo, babies and buckles (trying to get her out of her carseat is turning into an all out war unless we want to stand there and watch her buckle and re-buckle her harness over and over again).

She spends a good amount of her day saying "momma" and "dadda" and when I ask her where daddy is she usually tells me she doesn't know and then continues to yell out our names over and over (believe me, it's cute and all but gets really old!).

She just started to take interest in puzzles and can master big wooden chunky ones all by herself!

Sleeping at night has has begun to improve.  We have gotten a few full nights (8pm-6:45am) of uninterrupted sleep, which is proving to us that it IS possible!!!

At swim lessons she is beginning to kick her legs in the water when we swim around with her, she is starting to blow bubbles in the water, and she likes to "jump" off the edge to us in the water (more like walking off the edge, but it's a start).

When asked, she can locate her eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hair, hands/fingers, feet/toes, head, and belly button.

She is really good at making lots of different animal noises: monkey, cow, dog, cat, owl, duck, snake, tiger, bear, and sheep.

She is beginning to pick up on what I do at Stroller Strides and her newest exercise that she likes to mimic is a plank/downward dog.  You ask her, she will show you!!

She LOVES books and would probably prefer to spend most of our time at home reading than playing with toys.

She is still, if not more, attached to her pacifiers.  She knows the drawer we keep them in in the kitchen and can now reach into the drawer and get them herself.  Sometimes when we go get her from her nap she is standing in the crib with one in her mouth and three others in her hands.  If we are lucky, she might even have two pacifiers in her mouth at one time.  We're doomed the day we take them away!!!  Or as Jason says, she can go to Kindergarten with them for all he cares (I don't think we'll let it go that far).

And lastly, our little girl is just not so little anymore...wearing mostly 24 months and some 2T shirts!!!

Happy 18 months Cambrynn!!!
