Christmas 2014

Every year Christmas seems to get a little more magical as the kids get older and start to really get into all of the fun.  Clearly the girls take after their mom because they were both up a little after 5am on Christmas morning (something that I did as a kid every year).  Of course there was no way we were letting them go downstairs that early, but it was so fun to hear the excitement from Cammy as she looked from up on the stairs down as the Christmas tree!  Oh to be a kid!!

This year was pretty low key.  Just Jason's parents were here for Christmas and then his aunt Faith joined us later in the day for dinner.  We enjoyed a morning of present opening and playing with all of the new toys.  The highlight of Cammy's morning was opening one of her presents from Santa...the Elsa dress she has been asking for for months (Unfamiliar with Elsa?  First shame on you!  You need to climb out from under your rock.  Second, go watch the Disney movie Frozen and then you'll know what I am talking about).  The rest of the day was spent dressed in her Elsa dress, earrings, shoes and crown, singing on her new Frozen karaoke machine, listening to her new Frozen CD.  I am pretty sure it was the best day of this kid's life!

Typical...

That's better!

The girls love their sleeping bags from Auntie Amber and Uncle Russ!

I dream of a year in the future when both of our families can all be together on Christmas morning (siblings, their kids, our kids and our parents).  Holidays are never the same once everyone is spread so far apart.  Until then, we will continue to make memories with our little family and whoever can be apart of that with us.

Merry Christmas 2014 from the Lumsden 4
