A CA Family Reunion

A few months prior we booked a trip to CA in mid August for one of my friend's wedding receptions. I was always a little bummed it was right after my family would be in Tahoe for their annual trip, but I just had to be ok with everything not always working out timing wise. Then only like 2 weeks before our trip to CA my mom's side of the family gets this grand idea that we should have a family reunion in Tahoe while they are there. So by some miracle family from Florida, NY, Nevada, CA and WA all managed to get last minute flights and we all came together in Tahoe for a fun filled couple of days together (some more, some less). This also meant that we had to forego our trip for the wedding reception and move our plane tickets up a week, which was a little disappointing. It's not often that we all get together anymore though, so it was an opportunity we just couldn't miss.

We spent the first night of our trip at Jason's parents' house visiting with his parents and the grandparents.

It was so much fun to all be together again! We spent our few days together at the beach, swimming, eating, taking pictures and playing mini golf.

These kids did not want to leave each other!  So much fun!

What made this trip even more special was that my grandparents on my dad's side also came up to Tahoe for a day so they could see their great grandkids (and their grandkids I'm sure too). Driving up to Tahoe is no easy feat, so it meant a lot to be able to see them!

After Tahoe on our way back to Jason's parents' house we made a few visits along the way.  The first one was to see Jason's cousins Dave and Lisa and Dave's wife Jess and son Jack. We had a short visit with them, but it was just nice to finally get to meet their little guy and catch up on life a bit. Our girls absolutely loved playing with Jack and didn't want to leave.

The next stop on our way to Placerville was to visit my longtime college friend, Alli and her family. We do our best to keep in touch as much as possible, but it's hard with our busy lives.  So it's always nice to visit in person when we can so we can really catch up and watch our kiddos play together.

We finally made it back to Jason's parents' house and spent the last couple days of our trip with them. This was an important visit with them as well because this was the last time we would come to this house, as they were about to put it on the market to sell a few days after we left (how we left without a picture of the house I don't even know). 30+ years in their house and now they were getting ready to begin their new adventures on the road in their new RV! We got to have one last dinner with one of Jason's grandmas before we left.

Nothing beats a trip where we can see so many of our extended family members (and friends) all in one trip!!! We truly are blessed with such an amazing group that we can call FAMILY!
