WARNING...because this was a 2 week trip, this is a long blog!!
This CA roadtrip has been in the works since the end of last year when Jason got a call from his brother asking him to be the bestman in his wedding. At this time, we had just found out we were pregnant and that the baby would only be a few weeks old by the time we did this big trip. Just about everyone we knew said we were crazy for even attempting this with a newborn, but there was no way one or both of us would miss Jason's brother's wedding.
We knew we had to make the drive worth it's while, so we planned numerous stops along the way to visit with family and friends. People thought we were even more insane for making all these planned visits. I am proud to say though that we successfully made it to just about all of our planned visits! We just had to cancel on one other wedding at the beginning of our trip and a friend visit at the end of the trip.
Cambrynn was about 3 weeks old when we set off on our long roadtrip in mid September. Our first leg of the trip was making it to our parents' houses. A trip that would usually take us 14 hours or less took us close to 20 hours, with an over night of course in Oregon. Luckily Cambrynn was one of the best travelers and we only had to make stops every 3 hours or so for diaper changes, feedings and stretch breaks.
We stayed at my parents' house for 3 nights and during that stay managed to see quite a few friends and family!!! What a special time for Cambrynn to meet her great grandparents!!! My old college roommate, Kim, even came out from Monterey with her husband (ON their FIRST anniversary) to meet Cambrynn. We sure felt pretty special to be surrounded by so many loving people!

The second leg of our trip was to get from my parents' house to Santa Barbara. We did this leg with a stop in San Luis Obispo so we could show Cambrynn where her daddy went to college. We had fun visiting the campus and downtown SLO for dinner. Once we got to Santa Barbara we stayed there for 3 nights and used that time to visit with my mom's side of the family. And since we were right there at the beach, we knew we couldn't pass up an oppotunity to take Cambrynn to the beach for the first time. I just had one "bad parent moment" by putting her little feet in the COLD water a little too long. No worries, she is fine and we got some cute photos!

The third leg of our trip, and the reason for why we made this whole drive in the first place, was to Moorpark for Jason's brother's wedding. We spent 3 nights here visiting with many more family members on Jason's side of the family and doing all the fun wedding activities...including the actual wedding itself on Sept. 25th.

The day after the wedding we began our journey back home. Our first stop on the way was in Visalia to visit some of Jason's old college friends and meet baby Adelyn who was only born 10 days after Cambrynn!!

It was quite a trip, but so wonderful to see so many of our friends and family in one two week period! It was also amazing to see how much Cambrynn had grown in that two week period. We sure have one amazing little daughter and were blessed to be able to share her with so many people!!!
