Ear Piercing!

For the last month or two Brielle has been asking to get her ears pierced. I never really thought into it because she's 2 and they change their minds a lot. But after a solid week of being asked to get her ears pierced I decided to just do it (of course this is something that I have tried to talk any of my girls into doing because I love pierced ears).

I showed Brielle a few YouTube videos of girls her age getting their ears pierced and even with some dramatic videos she still wanted to get them done. So off we went the following day on June 9th to get her ears pierced!

We went to Piercing Pagoda at our local mall. I didn't really have a reason, but just went off of recommendations from friends that have gotten their ears done there.

Brielle did amazing with her ear piercing....until after the fact. She sat on my lap, barely flinched and didn't cry until it was all done and everyone was wanting to see her ears. I tried giving her a lollipop, but she wouldn't even take that until later. She was a champ!

Ready, set, pierce!

Look at those cute flower earrings!

After she was done I just briefly asked the other girls if they wanted to do theirs and both said no. We walked around the mall for a bit and then right as we were getting ready to head back to the car Cammy decided she wanted to "look at the earrings and if she found something she liked she would get it done today." I was slightly shocked! This was the girl who I had asked for months and months if she wanted to pierce her ears and she always gave me a stern "no and stop forcing me mom" response. We looked at the earrings and she found one she liked, so she decided to go for it!

Cammy's experience was a lot more dramatic, but we weren't too surprised by that. She was nervous and after the first ear got pierced she broke into tears. Then onto the second ear and of course that one had a little misfire according to the ear piercer. So her ear got punctured, but not fully pierced. So with extra drama we had to get that one pierced again. I was so glad when that was over (although she complained about ear pain for at least the next day or so).

I think she's ready

The first one was a bit dramatic

She is so excited she did it!!

I love that girls' new earrings and we cannot wait to be able to change them into tons of fun new earrings in 6 weeks!!! When I asked Hailey if she wanted to get her ears pierced now that both of her sisters have theirs done, she gave me a very positive "I am NEVER going to get my ears pierced!"
