Cammy's 7th Birthday

Ladies and Gentlemen...we officially have a 7 year old in our house! You heard that right, 7 YEARS OLD! Now we are really starting to feel old!!

Cammy is all about unicorns and stuffed animals these days, so that is what her birthday party with her friends was all about. We did a smaller party this year with just some of her closest friends a few days before her birthday on August 26th. And we ventured out a bit and decided to take all the kids (without their parents) to Build-a-Bear and then back home for the rest of the party. I was thoroughly impressed that we fit 6 booster seats in our Yukon!

It's unicorn time!

The set-up

She's ready for this party to begin!

Build-a-Bear was a fun party for our stuffed animal obsessed girl. Each kid got to pick a stuffed animal to make, they got to pick an outfit for it and they got a cute little drawstring backpack to carry it in afterwards. I think the kids loved having something so special to take home from the party!!

So much fun!!

After Build-a-Bear we came back home and the kids got to eat snacks, decorate their unicorn float cups, Cammy opened presents and then the kids ended the party with a scavenger hunt to find their little party favor (Unicorn Poop...aka: colored marshmallows). I think I am really liking the smaller, simpler birthday party!

Aren't these two unicorns cute?!

On Cammy's actual birthday we kicked it off with Frost donuts. We let her open the presents from us and my parents since she couldn't contain herself. Then she wanted to do one of our Summer Bucket List items...Ride the Ducks. So we hit the city for the day and played tourist. We started with Ride the Ducks. My mom joined us for that and I think everyone had fun. The tour has definitely changed since the first time we did it 10 years or so ago. It was a lot less energetic and loud and a little more informational. The kids still enjoyed driving through town and getting to go on Lake Union.

Just woke up and ready to open presents!

She got some pretty cool stuff from us

Clearly not exciting enough for this little one

A fun birthday activity

After the tour my mom headed home and we went to grab a simple lunch. After lunch we headed to the city center via the Monorail, which was a ton of fun for the kids. We landed in the city center and let the kids play at the cool play area before heading back on the Monorail to get back to our car. It was fun to be down in the city and do some touristy things that we haven't done in a long time!

Once back home Cammy got to open some presents from the Lumsden grandparents and her GiGi (great grandma Shirley) and then we headed to dinner at the restaurant of her choice...The Old Spaghetti Factory. At dinner Jason's parents, aunt Faith and grandma Shirley (who was visiting from CA) joined us. It was a yummy dinner after a busy day of fun!!

Happy Birthday to our first born!

She sure is loved by so many...and this is only a few of the Lumsdens!!

I have definitely taught my kids how to celebrate their birthdays! We pack our days full of fun and don't rest until our birthday is over!! Heck, you only have one birthday a year so why not live it up?!
