It's Berry Pickin' Season!

Jason was off on a 10 day work trip to North Carolina, Ireland and Germany (rough life, right?!), so while he was away his amazing parents came to help me (his dad only staying for part of the time). Hopefully you're thinking like me right now and wondering when this mommy gets a paid in full "work trip", cause I know I sure am!

Anyway, back to the reason for this blog (it was not about Jason's amazing travels). One of our favorite summertime activities here in the Northwest is berry picking, so that seemed like a fun thing to take the grandparents to go do.  We visited Biringer Farms on June 13th and the highlight of this place is the trolley ride out to the fields.

Because of the unseasonably warm weather we had been having this year the berry picking season seemed to creep up on us sooner than we expected.  We got in right at the perfect time when the strawberries were still plentiful, yet the raspberries weren't quite ready for picking.

The girls LOVED picking berries and Hailey took to the fields like she owned them.  I'm not sure she could pick berries nearly as fast as she wanted to eat them.  I always say that if their faces aren't covered in strawberry juice by the end of the day then we did something wrong (don't worry...Hailey succeeded...and don't worry, they encourage eating while in the fields).

Cammy was a great berry picker this year!

A happy little berry covered face!

I squat down to the girls' level and they squat down next to me...lol!

Until next year berry farm!
