We were at Wapato Point from August 18-25. My parents came with us and stayed in our unit with us for the entire week, so that was super helpful. The weather was ideal...just hot enough to make the lake feel good and the pool feel even better. It's safe to say that we spent just about every single day either at the pool or at the beach or both in one day.

This trip we bought a raft to play with at the pool and lake
We of course had to visit our favorite water park, Slide Waters. We enjoyed a full day there and loved showing my parents a new place to them. This water park is so much fun because every one of my kids finds something they like to do and can do there.

The solar eclipse on August 21st was a big event while in Chelan. We loved sitting out on the beach with everyone else at Wapato and watching the eclipse progress. The kids weren't too into it, but would take breaks between sand play to check it out. My dad made sure to watch it from the very beginning to the very end (the rest of us didn't last nearly that long). We had about a 94% coverage, so it was pretty neat to watch.

Of course Brielle thought that the peak of the eclipse was a great time to need a nap!
As you can tell most of us were interested in the eclipse, except Hailey
A fun little surprise for the girls on this trip was that their G-ma and Grandpa showed up for a few days. We weren't expecting them to be back from their Alaska RV trip for about 2 more weeks, but they were ready to be back so they hurried back. Since we were in Chelan it was an easy way to meet up before they got all the way home. The girls were beside themselves when they saw them show up!!
The girls were so surprised to see G-ma and Grandpa walk up to the door!
While Jason's parents were in Chelan we rented a pontoon boat to take out on the lake for 4 hours. We rented a tube for the kids to go on, but in the end Brielle was the only one brave enough to go on it with Jason and then of course some of us adults wanted in on the fun!! We all did some swimming in the lake and enjoyed our time exploring.
Brielle was the first one to want to go on the tube!

The rest of the week was spent making s'mores at the fire pit, biking, visiting a fun little treat stand, having cold treats at the Lakeshore snack shack, making tie-dye shirts, eating dinner the Lake Chelan Winery and blueberry picking after breakfast at Blueberry Hills.

We absolutely have fallen in love with Chelan. It's like our Lake Tahoe away from home. It's a little sad that we won't be able to use more than one of our weeks next year, but next summer will be even that much more special!!
Until next time...
