A Special Visit

For the past four days we were lucky enough to have one of my close college friends, Alli, and her baby Rylan who is 14 months old, come and visit us from CA.  I always get so happy when friends make the trip to come see us for no reason at all, and that was exactly what they did!

We made the most of our four days together and stayed busy with our little ones.  Cammy seemed to love having a live-in playdate...someone always around to play with.  Rylan and Cammy did so great together and found lots of enjoyment out of sharing toys together and chasing each other around the house right away.

We thought it would be fun to just throw both kids in the big bath together one night and watch them play.  Of course, Jason being the overprotective daddy, was slightly opposed to Cammy getting naked with a boy so soon, but we talked him into it (we love you Jason!).  It was fun to watch them splash and laugh together in there.

Having a live-in playdate for four days also meant that playtime was very hard to end. As we would try and wind our little ones down, they decided that it was more fun to play instead of go to bed one night.

Who needs to go to bed anyway?

We took the kids to the zoo on one of the days and enjoyed a nice morning checking out the animals.  Rylan's and Cammy's favorite were the otters, as they were swimming around and quite playful when we were there (the otters that is, not our kiddos).

We had a little downtime between naps on one of the days, so we enjoyed a little backyard playtime in the sun with the doggies.  Definitely learned that trying to get two little ones to look at the camera at the same time is quite a difficult task.

We took advantage of the nice weather one afternoon and made a little trip to the local park to have a picnic and do some playing on the playground.  The kids loved swinging on the swings together and we had fun just watching them!

On Alli and Rylan's last night here, we did the Run 26 Adventure Run together.  This is the "scavenger" hunt type run where we run around Mill Creek gathering raffle tickets from different businesses and locations.  Unfortunately none of us were winners in the raffle this time, but we still had fun!

We had such a fun four days together.  It's always a breath of fresh air to be able to hang out with other moms and babies.  It was sad to see them leave (although they technically aren't gone yet since they missed their flight, so they are currently still in WA waiting for the next one...that is just how much fun we have I guess).  The good news is that we get to see them in about a week when we are back in CA!

Thanks for making the trip here to see us Alli and Rylan!!!
