Swim Lessons

On Sunday, Cammy had her first of a series of 10 swim lessons.  I use the term "swim lessons" very loosely, as we are in the water with her at all times and the 25 minute lesson consists of lots of songs that go along with floating on your back, blowing bubbles in the water, learning to use your arms when moving forward in the water, etc.

What makes us laugh even more is the the prep time before and after swim lessons is almost double the time the actual lesson lasts.  Oh what we do for our kids!!

We decided to do her swim lessons at the Lynnwood Parks and Rec where they have a brand new aquatics area.  We are very excited to stay after class one day and use the water play area and the family spa with Cammy!!

When we first got in the water, which is a pretty luke warm temp, Cammy looked far from excited to be in there, especially when I kept bouncing up and down and getting her more and more wet.  Eventually as the lesson went on she got a little more used to the pool and seemed to be ok with it (of course this is about the time Jason switched with me in the pool).  I wouldn't say quite yet that she enjoyed it, but I think we will get there.

Of course as our first child at her first swim lesson, we (aka: new parents) went wild with the pictures (taking turns being in the water or taking the pictures), but I will spare you ALL the pictures and just show the best of the best.  Side note: We were definitely not the craziest first time parents there!!!  Another set of parents were both in the pool with their child AND the camera, trading off.  I think they might have recorded the ENTIRE swim lesson :)

Our swim lesson group...
(Notice the crazy parent in the middle of the pool with his video camera)

Practicing floating on back (still a little unsure)

Practicing swimming forward to get floating toys...she got one!

She is content with her rubber froggie

Watching daddy blow bubbles in the water

Swimming on her tummy

I think she liked it by the end :)

Looking forward to 9 more Sundays spent as a family at the pool!!!
