Jason's parents stepped up and came up here just to watch our girls for us. I wish guilt didn't come with going away, but I sure had it as I knew what they were in for. Three busy days with a 3.5 year old and a 15 month old, 2 dogs, and a cat...and to top it off, a 15 month old that wasn't sleeping through the night still. It was very hard for me to just let it go, but I knew I had to or I wouldn't enjoy myself.
Traveling without kids is glorious (seemed like an eternity since we had done it)!!! We carried on all of our bags (I think that must be a first for me in my entire lifetime!), it was a breeze going through security without a stroller, and we got to read, sleep, listen to music, talk to each other whenever we wanted on the flight!!!
See how happy we are with no kids with us on the airplane???
Arriving in Vegas was like being in college again. We had no cares in the world (except that we were thinking about our kids every minute we weren't with them it seemed). We spent our days sleeping in, shopping the strip, laying by the pool at our hotel at Treasure Island, having adult beverages and enjoying nice dinners out (like the kind you get all dressed up for and you spend more than an hour at eating and talking) and walking the strip at night.
Relaxing poolside with drinks in hand!

The first evening we had bought tickets for one of the famous Cirque shows called Zumanity. If ever in Vegas and looking for some good fun adult entertainment, this is the show! The second night we had planned to go out to a bar and just hang out. When we walked up to the bar we just felt so old and not quite sure what we would do with ourselves in a bar with a $10+ cover charge. So we decided to change our plan and got tickets for the Whitney Cummings comedy show (good choice on our behalf!).
Ready to go see Zumanity

And did the kids have fun? Absolutely!!! They shopped with G-ma and Grandpa at Toys R Us, had lunch at McDonald's and had endless playtime fun at home. We sure missed our girls, but realized during this trip just how important it is to take time to focus on our relationship as well.
