As excited as Hailey said she was about preschool, it was definitely a rough transition on the first day of school. Thank goodness Jason was there with me because I don't think I could have handled it on my own. Hailey kicked and cried, threw herself on the floor and refused to get up and even took to hitting Jason as he tried to get her to do with her class. It got to the point where we almost just had to leave her with the director and hope for the best. But right before we were going to leave Jason was able to carry her crying up to her room and eventually she went into her class.
I thought I had prepared myself for Hailey's first day of school, knowing that she would be a hard one to leave, but it way surpassed what I expected it to be like. We all survived it though, tears and all, and it was reassuring to hear that she was fine once we got her into the room and had a great day after that!
