Color Run

Cammy's school does one fundraiser for the entire year. They set a goal and if the kids reach that goal for money earned they get to have a special surprise at their Cougar Craze Fun Run. In previous years they had the Seahawks mascot, Blitz, come out for the Fun Run to cheer the kids on and give high fives. But too many kids took advantage of him and didn't treat him right that they didn't want to invite him back. This year was a little different and the kids could earn a color run if they raised enough money. The schoolwide goal was $30,000 and the school ended up raising over $42,000!!!

On Oct. 4th I volunteered to help at the color run as a colored powder squirter. All of the kids got a white Cougar Crazy t-shirt and they would ran laps around the field running through stations where us volunteers were squirting colored powder on the kids. It was quite a messy run (even for us volunteers), but the kids seemed to have fun. All of us parents just crossed our fingers that the color would come out of our kids' hair for picture day the next day!
