This year we continued the tradition of ugly Christmas sweaters for the adults and added in jammies for the kids. Wetried to simplify things a bit and include the kids a little more. And since there were less of us this year (friends moved or were out of town for the holidays) it was easy to simplify. We just had everyone bring a true "white elephant" gift (something from home) and a $15 gift. We played pretty much the basic pick a number and open with stealing game. The kids got involved by bringing a wrapped ornament. We read a "left right" Christmas story and whatever ornament landed on you by the end of the story made it your ornament to unwrap. The kids seemed to enjoy that and having something to open that was for them this time. Of course no kid gift exchange is complete without some tears over what they got!
It was a fun little party with pizza, treats (lots of treats), drinks, presents and wild kids running all around. Why did I think it was a good idea to introduce a "snowball" fight to the kids with slingshots and all?! Late bedtimes for all means a good party!
