Halloween Festivities

We kept ourselves busy the few days before Halloween this year!

After hearing about the local high school down the street always doing a family friendly harvest fair each year, we finally ventured over there with the girls all dressed up to see what it was all about. It was great! Everything was free, lots of fun games and tons of candy!!! We definitely will find ourselves back here each year!

The following day we went to a family Halloween party at one of our friend's houses. We all dressed up and had a fun night of hanging out, catching up with friends and watching the kids all play with each other. I LOVE having such an amazing social circle where we can do these types of things!

Don't you love our costumes?!

Tried to get a mom picture but of course the kids had to join in too!

The day before Halloween we got the kids dressed up for a 3rd time (at this point they were both starting to actually get tired of wearing their costumes and Cammy even asked if she could dress up in something different...like last year's costume) and went to Cammy's old preschool at Gold Creek Church, where they have a big Halloween "Eye Spy" type event. Lots of games, food, bounce houses and a checklist of characters you had to find to check off a "passport" type paper. It was a little too crowded this year and not quite as enjoyable as previous years, so this might have been our last year doing this one.

Finally the little unicorn got to dress up!

After the church event, we came home and carved our pumpkins. It was so much fun to see how into it Cammy as this year! She wanted to be a part of every bit of her pumpkin carving from cleaning our all the seeds, to designing the face, to drawing it on the pumpkin, to carving it with daddy's help. Hailey of course wanted nothing to do with the yucky pumpkin stuff!

Finally after a few days of Halloween related events the actual day was here!! And both girls were pretty much over being in their costumes by now...ha! The weather looked iffy all day and of course right when we set out to trick-or-treat the rain began and it literally didn't stop until we got home. It was a slightly less enjoyable experience and even less enjoyable after Hailey slipped on a wet driveway. We tried to be troopers with our umbrellas and all, but didn't stay out quite as long as we usually would. Still way more candy than we ever needed though!

And this little one refused to finish the night off trick-or-treating in our cul-de-sac, but instead wanted to hand out candy in her undies and slippers :)

Wow...that was a busy end of October!  Makes me tired just sitting down and writing about all of it! Until next year!
