Summer Bucket List Part #2

The second half of our summer was equally as full of fun as the first half! In fact it might have even felt busier because we seemed to have had a lot of activities to accomplish towards the end of summer and barely enough time to do them. So by the end of summer it felt like an entire week was full of fun from our bucket list.

A continuation of our Summer Bucket List fun (the last 13 items):

#16: August 4th we went on a family bike ride while at our timeshare in Lake Chelan. Even though it wasn't exactly what I had envisioned for this activity (not quite as long and adventurous), we still all got out there and had a fun little ride.

These girls have it so easy!

Ready to ride!

Trying to get a pic of the whole family while riding is tough!

#17 and #18: August 14th we played in the sprinklers and the best part was that we got to do it with one of Cammy's school friends. We also ended the day by making ice cream with daddy!

Turtle sprinkler on and squirt guns ready!

Sprinkler under the trampoline was fun!

Making ice cream with daddy

Yummy!

#19: August 15th we took the family to go play mini golf at the Snohomish golf course

Ready to golf!

#20 and #21: August 17th we went to Remlinger Farms for a day of horse riding, farm fun and going on rides. We then ended the day with a movie and living room campout (we couldn't make it to the dollar movies at Regal, so this was our substitute activity).

My mom, me and the girls all riding the flying pumpkins

Rollercoaster rides with Cammy

Me and my little flower children

Brielle picked a big one for her first ride

#22: August 19th-21st the girls went on a 2-nighter RV camping trip with G-ma and Grandpa and NO PARENTS!

#25: August 31st we did a final zoo trip of the summer with some old friends and we got to finally feed the rhinos

Cammy was the only brave kid to feed them

Bribery to take a group picture close to the rhinos

#26: Sept. 1st Jason and I took just Cammy to an Aquasox game. We chose the later game time so we could also see fireworks, but come to find out it was a double header and the fireworks weren't going to happen until after the second game around 11pm. So we saw one game, but couldn't stay for the fireworks.

Ready for some baseball!

Definitely not going to make it until fireworks!

#27: Sept. 8th (there just wasn't enough time before school started to finish our list, so since it technically was still summer when school started we finished our list that first weekend of school) all 5 of us plus my mom went hiking. We went to Wallace Falls and we made it to the middle falls before having to turn back. This was Hailey's first big hike and she did it!

And we're off!

1.7 miles from here to the middle falls

I love having a hiking family!

Lower falls

Middle falls

A stop at the river on the way back down

#28: We had all good intentions of finding a time to go tent camping (since we practiced in the backyard), but there just wasn't enough time (and I admit I planned way too many things for one summer). So sadly I had to be ok with not completing our list this summer. We will make sure this tops the list for next summer though!!

And another Summer Bucket List goes into the books!

First Day of Pre-K

Hailey started Pre-K on Sept. 10th. This year seemed like such a breeze compared to last year when she kicked and screamed and wouldn't let us drop her off. She seemed excited this year and I think that had a lot to do with her knowing the place she was going, having a teacher that her big sister had for Pre-K, being in the same room as her big sister was for Pre-K and having one of her best preschool buddies in her class with her.

First day of Pre-K

But when I ask her if she wants to do dance class she says no...haha!

Front of the line on the first day...and NO tears!

Hard to believe that next year we will have to kids in elementary school together and Hailey will be a kindergartener!!! That just doesn't even seem possible!

Date Night at the Rodeo

Growing up I always remember going to the local rodeo at least once a year, usually on the 4th of July. This was a favorite memory of mine and when I heard that a rodeo was coming to the WA State Fair this year I just had to go!!

Lucky for us not only was it a rodeo at the fair, but it was followed by a Scotty McCreery concert. He was one of my favorite American Idol winners who has such an amazing male country voice. So I planned a fun little date night for Jason and I to go to on Friday, Sept. 7th.

Despite the insane traffic getting to the fair on a Friday evening and the off and on rain (thankfully we were in the stands under a covered area) it was just fun to be at the fair, watching the rodeo and listening to some good music while enjoying some adult beverages kid free!!! We definitely need more of these date nights!!!

Rodeo time!

First Day of 2nd Grade

On Sept. 5th Cammy started 2nd grade!! The sun was out and it was almost a bit hard to go back to school when still feeling in summer mode. Jason snuck away from work and surprised Cammy to walk her in on the first day with me.

First day pic

Wanting to follow in mommy's footsteps!

They are going to miss her!

Daddy surprised her from work!

I'm really going to miss her during the day!

Back with her friend Nicole, but different classes this year

Here's to a new year full of learning, making friends, and lots of fun!!
