The Lumsden Clan All Together

As I have said before, it's pretty darn rare that our WHOLE family is together at one given time.  We lucked out with my side of the family back in August for Cammy's birthday and then it just so happened that Jason's side of the family was able to be all together up here at Christmastime.

Despite just having taken maternity pictures, pictures with the Friedrichs family back in August, and newborn pictures one week prior, we found it totally necessary to document the Lumsden family together (as who knows when it will happen again in the near future).

Of course being that it was the week of Christmas and a limited time schedule since Jason's brother and sister-in-law weren't up here more than a week, it made it hard to find time to get pictures done. We knew that the day we scheduled was the day we would have to stick with rain or shine.  And rain it did!!!  Poured actually!  And it was pretty darn cold!  But what I love about these pictures is that you wouldn't really be able to tell all of that, because the talented Kristin Harris knew great covered location spots near indoor places that let us get warm in between pictures at the University of Washington college campus.  And honestly, all I can see in these pictures are smiling faces because we are TOGETHER!!!!

Finally an updated picture of Hailey at 2 years old!!!

Hailey's First Gymnastics Class

After months and months of having to watch her big sister Cammy do dance every Saturday morning, we finally got Hailey into an activity of her own...gymnastics!

Hailey's first gymnastics class of course fell on her birthday and there was no way with all that we had going on that day that we would go.  So her first official class was Dec. 19th at the Bothell Gymnastics Club.

Not that we had any doubts, but gymnastics was a total home run for this little monkey!  She was practically the star of the class showing off "bat swings" on the bar all by herself on her very first try. She loved walking the balance beam, jumping into the foam pit, swinging on the bars and jumping on the trampolines.  It's safe to say that she loves finally being the star of the show and that the next 11 weeks of gymnastics are going to be a blast!

Brielle's Professional Newborn Pictures

On Dec. 14th we spent the morning playing dress-up with Brielle and documenting our new family of 5 with the ever so talented Alicen Lum.  This amazing photographer has photographed all 3 of our girls and after the photoshoot ended it almost felt a little bittersweet that we wouldn't be back to do this again.  We are so pleased with all of the moments that she captured so we can remember this very special stage that goes by WAY TOO FAST!!  These are just a few of the pictures that we love...

Preschool Christmas Performance

As if we couldn't pack in more right after having a baby...Cammy's preschool Christmas performance happened to fall on her sister's birthday/party day on Dec. 12th!  So after hurrying everyone out of the house after the party, we all got in "real" clothes and rushed off to Cammy's school to watch her perform.  I didn't think the chances looked too good for me getting to go, but thanks to my amazing friends who totally understood the importance of me going, I made it there a little after it started!

All of the kids got to talk into the microphone and introduce themselves (while being shown up on the big screen) and then they all sang a few Christmas songs (ones that we have been hearing at home for the past few weeks).  It was a very cute performance, which of course brought this hormonal mom to tears watching.

She's TWO!

It feels like Hailey has been 2 for the longest time (terrible twos started around one), but then when I really look back I can hardly believe that it has already been TWO years!!!  What happened to my little baby?!  The one in the picture below...

Just born on Dec. 12, 2013

I think it's safe to say that this little 2 year old has the BIGGEST personality ever!  She is constantly making us laugh with her silly deep voice talk and with the hilarious things that she says and does. She has so much love for her big sister and looks up to her in so many ways (we typically hear all day long "Cammy watch!").  She gives the BEST hugs and loves to snuggle, yet can be the biggest spitfire only moments later.  Tantrums are frequent, but they never last long.  She might be the pickiest eater we've ever met, but when she likes something she goes all in (mac n cheese might be the best example).  She is determined to keep up with her big sister and is already exceeding with swimming (a good paddle and kick with help), using the potty from time to time, and racing around on a scooter.  And she doesn't give out many smiles when you want them (it's a sacred smile that only the luckiest get to experience).  Life would definitely be a lot more dull without this little cutie in our lives!

To celebrate her 2nd birthday this year we hosted a Donuts and Pajamas party at our house with some of her close little buddies on Dec. 12th.  Yes I know we are quite crazy to host a party at our house only 6 days after having a baby, but nobody knew Brielle would decide to make her arrival so late!  A pajama party seemed quite fitting with all of the craziness we had the past week.

We had a whole spread of mini cereals, make-your-own yogurt parfaits, lots of fruit, mini donuts, milk, orange juice, coffee and Frost donuts in place of cupcakes for the grand finale of birthday singing.

To top off the funfilled day, we ended it with presents and a birthday dinner at Red Robin (our family tradition). Hailey loved getting sung to and absolutely enjoyed her ice cream sundae.
