She talked about ballet for a while, but I thought she was still a bit young to be reliable enough to do a whole dance class and recital. But after hearing her ask to do ballet enough I decided to give it a try with a basic ballet class (no recital) at the Mill Creek Parks and Rec. It was a 5 week session with a 45 min class every Saturday (not a horrible time commitment).
This girl was in HEAVEN when her first ballet leotard came in the mail. She wore it just about anytime we were at home and she requested ballet music to be put on so she could dance to it. She would leap, twirl and plie everywhere! This girl was ready to do ballet!
She loved going to class every Saturday!! She most enjoyed being able to wear that leotard and ballet slippers and dance her little heart out. On March 30th we got to come into the room and watch her whole dance class for a last day showcase (typically we sit behind a window where we can only partially see them during class). It was precious!!
I am over the moon that I have a dancer! And now that we have one session of ballet under our belts, she is already asking to do tap. So now my job is to look into studios that she can start at after the summer and make the full year long commitment with a recital...eeek!!!

Time for me to be a dance mom!!!
