A Trip to Point Defiance

Point Defiance Zoo is another favorite zoo for our family. Since it's a much further drive than our local zoo we only manage to get here about once a year. Since it was Veterans Day weekend with no school on Monday AND the weather was gorgeous we decided to go with my mom on Sunday, Nov. 11th. Jason stayed back to get some housework done, so it was just a girls trip this time.

One of our favorite parts about this zoo is that it also has an aquarium to go to and just recently they opened a brand new aquarium there, so this was our first time checking that out.

We had a blast checking out the new aquarium, which was really nicely done and we also enjoyed seeing some fun animals that we don't get to see at our local zoo, like walruses, an arctic fox, Ox, seals and elephants. We even lucked out and were able to catch an animal show on their super cool theater stage where we got to see some pretty unique animals, such as an armadillo and a really funny bird.
