Hailey's 5th Birthday

On December 12th, Hailey turned the big 5! Crazy to think that next year our middle child will be in all day kindergarten at the same school as her big sister! It's like I blink and they are all grown up! Hailey is an amazing kid. She is so sweet, compassionate, helpful, a great big and little sister, makes friends so easily and has come leaps and bounds from just a year ago. She is obsessed with all things Barbies and baby dolls (as you will see from her birthday pictures). Boy does this girl keep us on our toes with some crazy OCD behaviors and her extreme pickiness, but our lives wouldn't be complete without her!!

Like last year, she got to spend her birthday in her preschool class and I got to come in and enjoy her snack celebration with her for the last part of class. After school we met daddy on his lunch break at Panera (one of Hailey's favorite lunch spots) and then continued the fun at Arena Sports bouncing on their bounce houses (here I go again jam packing our birthdays with way too much fun!).

After Cammy got home from school and Jason from work we opened some presents and then went to dinner at Hailey's choice...Red Robin. Our friends the Mitchells joined us last minute for a little dinner celebration. Similar to her younger sister, Hailey begged for them to not sing to her. Oops...I let them do it and that was a BIG mistake. Hailey lost her mind and was screaming and crying and holding onto my hand so tight during the song. It was actually quite humorous (and embarrassing as I looked around the restaurant and everyone was staring at us).

After dinner we came home and sang to Hailey in the comforts of our own home. Since we had dessert at Red Robin we just threw together a bowl of ice cream and stuck a candle in it for the singing. Aren't we classy?!

The birthday girl!

We love this 5 year old!

As I have said in previous blogs...parenting never leaves a dull moment and today was a prime example of it! Note to self...NO MORE BIRTHDAY SINGING IN PUBLIC!
