Anderson Island Getaway

Oh happy day....my parents have arrived in Washington for my mom's Spring Break!!!  Between the recent sunshine AND warmer temps AND my parents being closer, I am one happy camper!

Around the time Jason and I moved to WA, my parents had purchased a little piece of property on a little island just south of Tacoma called Anderson Island.  They haven't done anything with it yet, but occasionally like to go visit it just for fun.  This time they decided to spend the first few nights of my mom's break on the island to get a real feel for island life, so we got to go spend a night with them over the weekend.

On the ferry to go to Anderson Island
(Cammy is waving bye bye to everything!)

Island life is definitely not for everyone and as I like to say everytime I visit there, I need to have a Target no more than 15 mins away from me and be able to hear firetrucks and police car sirens every so often.  I am definitely one of those people that is NOT cut out for the secluded and quiet island life!

In the time we visited we enjoyed a nice little hike/walk down to beach where there were tons of sand dollars.  Most were dead, but it was still pretty cool to see!  We enjoyed just hanging out down there and soaking up the ever so rare sunshine.

(so cool to think we were on the edge of an island)

Gramps took the hard job of carrying Cammy back UP the hill

We also did a little driving around to see some houses for sale and to take a look at my parents' property again (yup...nothing has changed there besides a neighboring house that was built).

The following morning we did a short little walk to one of the lakes and then visited the beach by the ferry dock while we waited to head back to the mainland.

This is what serious bedhead looks like
(for Cammy...not me!)

Thanks for a fun afternoon, night and morning on the island mom and dad!!  We look forward to making many more memories here once you become a part time resident!
