Easter Fun...in the SUN!!!!

Yup...you read the title of this blog correctly!  We could hardly believe it ourselves!  We had a weekend fun of sun and the warmest temps we have seen in a LONG time!!  Near 70 degrees on Easter Sunday!

Our Easter weekend activities began with the Mill Creek Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30th.  We weren't quite sure how this would go for Cammy, as she has never really done great in crazy unfamiliar situations.  And if she was going to be anything like her mommy when I was her age, then we were setting ourselves up for failure from the beginning!  Don't let the first few pictures fool you...they were long before she knew what was going to happen!

Walking to the egg hunt in style thanks to Gramps!

Could care less about the eggs on the field...
She's really just pointing to the bounce house :)

Once we got set up for the egg hunt, it pretty much went South from there.  As all the kids happily ran past us picking up eggs, Cammy so nicely clung to me, cried, and refused to pick up any eggs.  To avoid not getting anything, I quickly threw in 5 eggs that were within my reach.

Look at all those happy people running past us like Cammy should be doing!

Oh but wait...as soon as Cammy realized what was inside the eggs (Hersey Kisses to be exact), she became very eager to pick up any eggs that we put back out on the ground for her to pick up.  We called this "egg hunt round 2".  Big whoops on the parents' behalf...instead of teaching Cammy to just collect empty eggs around our house a few days before the hunt, we should have put chocolate inside so that way she would be eager to collect eggs at the real hunt.  Lesson learned and won't make that mistake again!

She now gets why we collect these darn eggs

For the chocolate of course!

Must have been one heck of an egg hunt because
she couldn't even stay awake on the wagon ride home!

This year I thought Easter would be a little more fun, as we now have a kid who can do all the fun Easter traditions and will actually enjoy her Easter basket this year!  Wrong!!  She only wanted chocolate in her Easter basket and could care less about anything else in there.  And dying Easter eggs was a total flop because as soon as she got one tiny bit of blue dye on her hands, she was fussing and over it!  Mommy got to finish the task.  We did have a successful Easter egg hunt in the backyard now that she learned what was so great about the eggs :)

See how excited she was once she ate all the chocolate kisses?!

And one of the best parts about Easter was that we got to spend it not only with my parents, but also some of our close friends!!

Happy Easter 2013!!
