Cambrynn's 5th Birthday

On August 29th we officially had a 5 year old!!!! To me that feels like such a pivotal age. They are officially a BIG KID. No more preschool...it's off to begin their educational career in the public school world beginning with Kindergarten. Five years old is an age where they are ready to spread their wings and fly...without us parents (sniff sniff).  It's a scary age (for us as parents), but also such a cool age because they can do so much and their little brains are just so ready to soak up everything they learn. It's an age where they are still our little babies, but also a kid that wants to do their own thing and start being more independent (but she better still want cuddles every now and again). How in the world can we have a 5 year old (ok, I realize I say this on every one of my kids' birthday posts, but it always seems so surreal)?!

Cammy is the one who made us parents, our first born.  And we feel so proud to see how far she has come. She used to be a shy little kid (first day of preschool she was so sad be apart from us) and now she is off and running and hardly looking back. She has become a social butterfly (hugging random people such as our waitress at a restaurant...weird I know!). She is the best big sister to her two little sisters, always helping with them and looking out for them. She is smart, silly, loveable, a bit sassy, willing to try new things and changes her mind ALL THE TIME (one day she decided she didn't like princesses anymore and was totally into superheroes and then a month later she doesn't really care about superheroes anymore). We love every bit of this girl and can't wait to see what the next year has in store for her!

To celebrate her birthday this year she was determined to have a roller skating party (something she actually NEVER changed her mind about...shocking!). So on August 28th she had a Hello Kitty themed roller skating party with her close friends at the Everett Skate Deck. It was definitely a fun birthday party and I think Jason and I enjoyed more than anything not having to host anything at our house this year!

On her actual birthday, August 29th, we spent the day checking out Remlinger Farms in Carnation (about an hour from our house). This was probably one of the most fun birthday activities we have done for her.  A farm that was meant for just her age and younger. We all had a blast and ended the day with our annual birthday dinner at Red Robin with all of Cammy's little friends and our close group of friends from CA.
