Hike to Bridal Veil Falls- Bucket List #17

As summer was coming to a close and school was getting ready to start back up for the year, we had one last activity to check off of Cammy's "Summer Bucket List", which was to go hiking. We went on Sept. 4th as a fun Labor Day weekend activity. Surprisingly we had never taken Cammy hiking before, so this was a first for her. Every summer we talked about it but never did it because we had the other two littles who would never last on a hike. This time we got smart and left Hailey and Brielle with the grandparents so we could enjoy the day.

We chose Bridal Veil Falls because it was listed as one of the best hikes for kids. It is a 4 mile roundtrip hike. Despite Cammy doing great on the entire hike with no complaining at all, I would say that the hike was a little more of a climb with some tricky rocky parts that I didn't think there would be. I am definitely glad we didn't bring the other two kiddos!!

Along the hike we saw lots of cool caterpillars. We were shocked at how different they all looked and had to take a picture to show Hailey and Brielle once we got home.

The falls was beautiful! It was an amazing view from the falls and a great place to have a quick lunch. We only saw one crazy person at the falls who went all the way in the water. It was definitely cold water!!

We are so proud of our little hiker in the making. She loved being outdoors and seeing all of the cool things in nature. In fact, we were surprised with how much she kept talking the whole hike because she was just that excited about everything. And when we got back to the car she was already telling us that she was ready to do her next hike!

First hike was a success!!

And this completes Cammy's "Summer Bucket List!" 17 super fun activities that kept us busy and on the go this summer! We cannot wait to make our list for next summer and Cammy said that hiking will for sure be on it!
