Our Happy Place

Every year our family looks forward to summer break and our one week in Lake Chelan at our timeshare. This summer we were in Chelan for August 16-23 (we were supposed to go in July, but another timeshare owner reached out wanting to trade weeks, so that's what we did). We stayed in a different unit this time since we traded weeks with other people, but this unit was exactly the same except laid out opposite of ours. And what we loved about this unit was that it was literally right next to our pool, so if anyone had to use the potty or got hungry, it was super easy to go back.

Usually in August Chelan is known for fires and lots of smoke. Last summer we experienced the smoke when we were there, but this summer there was none...hooray!

We started our week off with breakfast at Blueberry Hills (one of our favorite breakfast spots). Lesson learned though, always go on a weekday! The line was out the door and the wait to get food served to after you ordered was still long. So I helped entertain the girls while Jason held our table and we went and picked blueberries, raspberries and blackberries (although there were not many raspberries left).

Our week basically consisted of either going to the lake, going to the pool or going to Slide Waters (the local, super awesome water park in Chelan). And after spending lots of time at the beach we have found that we continue to add floaties to our floatie collection and each year they seem to get larger and larger. This year we added a REALLY BIG swan!! I've come to the conclusion that I get "floatie envy" while at the beach and always need to have the next coolest and next biggest floatie.

Silly dad!

When we aren't in the water, we found ourselves doing crafts at the kiosk, playing mini golf, bike riding, making s'mores, eating treats from the Shoreline Grill or going out to the Lake Chelan Winery BBQ for dinner. It's really endless amounts of fun and never enough time to do it all! Life is good when we are at the lake!!!
