Gettin' Artsy

This summer I let each kid pick a camp that they wanted to do. Hailey chose a mad science camp at her old preschool, Brielle did a 3 week dance camp and Cammy chose to do an art camp at the AR Workshop with her best friend.

We absolutely love this newish addition to our Mill Creek businesses!!! And even better that it is only like a 3 minute drive from our house!! I have done a handful of workshops here and we have done one kid's workshop.

This art camp was 4 days (August 5-8) and each day they got to make something different, along with learn some painting techniques.

On the first day the kids learned some different painting techniques (dry brush, white wash, etc) to begin with. Then they made a plank.

On the second day they made a canvas wall hanging and began painting their camp shirts.

On the third day they finished up their shirts and also made a hanging picture frame.

And on the last day they made a canvas pillow and a little wooden name sign practicing the painting techniques they learned.

They got to wear their completed camp shirts on the last day

Literally all I heard from Cammy up until this camp was how excited she was to go, wishing it would have been earlier in the summer. And then the entire week of camp I don't think I have ever seen this girl so excited to go do something. She was in art Heaven (Cammy is clearly our artist in the family) and enjoyed every second of this camp!!

The good news is that since she loves this place so much, we will be back for her birthday party in just a few short weeks to do more art!!!
