After a pretty successful first family hike about a month prior, we decided to take advantage of a little April sun and try another short kid friendly hike on April 22nd. Our hike this time was
Big Gulch in Mukilteo. It's a forested trail with many different options of where to go. I do prefer hikes with destinations such as lakes, waterfalls, etc, but since all of those kinds of hikes are much harder we had to pick from our handful of options. The kids all did pretty well until the very end. We made the decision to not take the same way back so we popped out on a street and had to hike it back through a neighborhood, which felt like it was never ending to get back to our car. They all brought their binoculars and used them to take closer looks at wildlife and plants, so that fun. A well deserved McFlurry was a nice treat after surviving the hike!
